    So… turn your phone off. Turn your computer off. I do it all the time. It’s pretty cool. They put a button right there on the side usually (might have to check your manual). All this stuff is very much opt-in. You do know that, right, Rudes?

    I kid but this kind of thing is an eye-roller to me.

    Are we more connected than ever before? Sure, sure. Is today’s generation growing up immersed in a world more awash with (and probably overwhelmed by) more information than anything we could have dreamed of? Sure, sure. But I’m not wringing my hands in the air at the demise of our society on that account.

    No, young people have always been stupid and appalling and superficial as seen through the lens of age. And though the relative quietude and simplicity of days gone by always seems romantic, rare is the individual who has actually follows through with their resolution to rid themselves of the technological conveniences/entrapments of the twenty-first century Western world. I’d say there’s more to be said for instant access to information than against but maybe that’s just me.
